[Tech] /var was at 100%+, mail stopped sending, cleaned up some space, not sure if sendmail back on

I just purchased a 200 gig drive on Black Friday and have a few more in
storage... so if the techcomm needs to build a large RAID 1 drive for a
security back-up server there will be no problem

I found that I stopped receiving email from my normal email address.
Checking on the system, I found that /var was over 100% full. I
copied off my mail box from /var/mail and freed up some space, but the
/var disk is at 98%. Sendmail seems to be up, and I hope it is
functioning now.

Is there any other cleaning folks can do?

My vote for highest priority is probably upgrading the machine.

Jamie
