Message-ID: <28a2ed330805040637j4171ac64jbec4777748d4d664@mail.gmail.com> FYI: A copy of a letter to the MA Greens, the Green Rainbow Party, GRP. From: John Walsh Date: Sat, May 3, 2008 at 2:23 PM Subject: Farewell for the moment. To: "M.K. Merelice" , Nathanael Fortune Dear Co-chairs, In order to serve as an elector for Nader/Gonzalez, I changed my registration from GRP to Unenrolled on Thursday. I hope that the GRP will be part of a new poltical party and movement that emerges from this year's campaign. And I hope to re-enroll in the GRP next year. But as far as the GPUS goes, I feel it is all over. It is just too dysfunctional. About a year ago, I argued with Joshua Frank in a public exchange that he was being too hard on the GPUS and that we had to work with it. Boy, was I wrong. I had to learn the hard way through my own experience. I must say that I feel a little alienated after 2006 when we worked hard to get back on the ballot - and now we shall have to do it over again for Ralph. Alienated because Ralph was manipulated out of contention at the national level when he is a very valuable asset and this year will certainly be his last hurrah. And I feel a bit frightened since the US is now beginning to talk of "small" nuclear weapons. And it must. How else can the empire confront and control the Arab world, the African world, much of South America and China?? The empire must use its technological superiority or give up its status as "owner of the planet." And when it comes to that, I am with the very eloquent Jeremiah Wright - the US government is capable of anything. Finally, if anyone is interested in working on Ralph's campaign, let me know.
