- Party Statements/Information
-
All party statements issued by State Com, Ad Com or the co-chairs more than two years old require review and reapproval by State Com during their third year to ensure they continue to reflect the current thinking of the party, in accordance with the State Committee sunset proposal passed 27 Jan 2008. Statements not renewed by State Committee in either new or original form expire three years after their original passage date. Party statements already more than three years old were granted a 6 month extension to allow time for review.
Following review, the Platform Committee will propose an updated statement for consideration by State Committee (prior to the scheduled expiration of the statement at the end of the third year). Each statement will either be renewed by State Committee (in current or revised form) or withdrawn as a official party statement. Individual members of State Committee continue to have the right to independently reintroduce current or revised statements for consideration by State Committee at any meeting.
