I certainly support Chuck's nomination, but I have concerns about the high demands on his time and his availability for meeting the demands of Party co-chair.

Chuck Turner has informed me that while his heart was warmed by the nominations to run as male co-chair of the party, he must decline to run. Chuck could not take on the responsabilities that this postition entails at this time for a few reasons, one of which is that he is running city wide for reelection this year to Boston City council. He trusts that there is someone else who is capable and can step up to take this important role of guiding the party.

I nominate David Ebony Barkley.
Ebony is very experienced in organizing and community development, including work as a Labor organizer and member of the Rainbow Coalition Governing Board. He is very focused on building the strength and unity of the Green-Rainbow Party and will use his energy and leadership as a co-chair to travel around the state to help build the Party and motivate our members. This is a timely and important focus at this stage of Party development.

I very much value Gary's work with the Rainbow and the Greens; his leadership has been invaluable in getting us to where we are today and will be an enormous asset as the Green-Rainbow moves forward.

I would like to second the nomination of Gary Hicks. Gary has ben a consistent voice for an active anti-racist Green Rainbow Party and it's his leadership that will help keep on on track.
