  > I nominate Gary Hicks. I value the insight and perspective Gary brings to the Administrative Committee and would like that participation to continue. Although his name appears as a potential nominee for male cochair, I suggest his abilities at this time are suited to the role of Secretary. He is skilled at writing and communicating, and will exercise the important judgment needed to review and authorize local chapters as they are forming.

  NOMINATION STATEMENT BY GARY HICKS
  
  Should I be elected to the post of Secretary, I see my responsibilities as more than described in the by-laws, though these are minimal tasks that will be carried out ( i.e. keeping minutes of adcom meetings, transmitting said minutes to statecom, certifying locals).
  
  I also see as being important working with the locals and/or the Membership Director and Membership Committee, to assure that our diversity requiements of all types are clear to all leadership and committee structures, and are being met.

  >As a UNITY gesture, I nominate Gary Hicks AND Larry Klay to be co-Secretaries -- as an alternative to intense debate - We could all use a little rest and peace, no doubt - Moreover, there seems to be a useful precedent re Membership Committee chair being shared
  
  If debate on the values we both prioritize is difficult-but-desirable, I will withdraw my suggestion
