Thank you all for your support. I conditionally accept the nomination; however, I strongly encourage someone else to run. At our Membership Committee meeting last night, 6/3/03, David Alan (Ebony) Barkley and Peter Harrell offered to run as co-chairs. I support this, as I think two (or more) people sharing responsibility for convening a committee is a really good idea and I think they will do a great job together -- if a woman will step forward to join them, it will be a very diverse and dynamic committee. There is a lot of work to do on membership, and the more leadership there the better -- and sharing leadership is what we're all about, right?
