Bylaws
The MGP Bylaws were recently modified to account for our weakness in explicity working towards diversity within the party structure and at the same time moving the State Committee structure to be in compliance with state law, which must take place by 2004. These bylaws changes were adopted by the State Committee and represent the rewarding and hard work of many people from both the Green Party and the Rainbow Coalition Party working together in the Green-Rainbow Committee. The Green-Rainbow Committee is the committee that has been working on the Greens joining forces with the Rainbow Coalition Party since the last MGP Congress in 2001, where by consensus, the members of MGP decided to move ahead with efforts to join forces with the Rainbow Coalition Party.
You can read the
latest Bylaws,
an extract of the changes to the bylaws that were passed at the last State Committe meeting on 3/23/02, and the
Addendum A, a document titled "Consensus Seeking Process" that describes the consensus seeking decision making process that the MGP will be using at all conventions, congresses, and State Committee meetings.
