Final draft of Rainbow Green resolution
Friday June 01, @03:14PM Friday June 01, @03:14PM by Gil Obler
from the Tired ready for summer dept.
Final draft. We have responded to some of the feedback on this site, in email, and in phone conversations.
All reference to the name of the merged party has been deleted, as have all references to the word immediate.
We clarified that the labor caucus is just one of many issue caucueses (as we always intended).
We removed the sharing of lists, since we only intended for locals to do this.
We clarified that the joint committee does not mean that two bodies do not also have separate governing bodies functioning prior to a final merger.
We moved the date of the first draft platform and bylaws to Jan 1, 2002.

Modified RGL (Rainbow-Green merger) proposal
Monday May 28, @06:21PM Monday May 28, @06:21PM by Gil Obler
from the RGL working group dept.
Changed "must" to "should" in last sentence to address concerns about:
1) mandating a date for implementation as opposed to a filing date,
2) need for another vote of the general membership on the specific merger proposal once it is drafted (we are only asking for a mandate to continue the process and a timetable for the talks, not asking for approval of something that is not written yet, the actual merger)

Thursday May 24, @09:36PM Thursday May 24, @09:36PM by Gil Obler
from the Structures and Procedures Working Group dept.
This proposal intended for the floor of the MGP June 3, 2001 Congress at the earliest possible oppotunity, extends the franchise for the duration of the Congress to registered voters in the MGP (who have not paid dues), to Rainbow Coalition members, and to youth ages 14-18, convicted felons, and immigrants who agree to the Ten Key values and to join the MGP in the next year if they are allowed to by party rules.

from the RGL working group dept.
This proposal, planned to be presented at both the Massachusetts Green Party and Rainbow Coalition Party Congresses in June, creates the timetable and action plan for the merger process that was agreed to by the general membership in January,
but which has resulted in only one official meeting by the leadership since.

We have taken the great work by Jamie and Jonathan and made several modifications. We left the original versions of each section by Jamie and Jonathan in the doc with our mods and additions noted. 4.1 is mostly rewritten, 5.3 had minor modification, 6.6 was added, and sections 9.2 and 9.4 are significantly different.
