SunflowerState Committee 2006-2008 Session

State Committee Meetings in the 2006-2008 Session

State Committee Members by Region for 2006-2008 Session

In 2004, as per section 8.5.1 of the GRP bylaws, as many as 80 State Committee seats may be elected in the Presidential primary (representing state senate districts).

As per section 8.5.2 of the GRP bylaws, up to 60 additional proportional representation seats on the State Committee are elected at regional conventions. The Commonwealth is divided into 12 regions: 11 regions are counties, and the 12th (Cape and Islands) is made up of Barnstable, Dukes, and Nantucket counties combined.

As per section 8.5.3 of the GRP bylaws, additional diversity seats are created and seated by votes of the state committee, upon the advise of diversity caucuses formed to address the needs of disenfranchised party member constituencies and Commonwealth resident populations.

To find out more about the State Committee structure, refer to the bylaws.
