Sunflower Proposals for Summer 2003 State Committee Meeting

Proposals for the State Committee meeting can be submitted, revised, and commented on here. The State Committee meeting is on September 13th, 2003. State Committee rules say that the last day to submit anything here is August 30th, 2003.

Any two members of the State and Administrative Committees, or any Green-Rainbow Local, may submit a proposal for the State Committee to consider.

If you have proposals that are ready to post, do not hesitate as it gives people more of a chance to read it and comment on it ahead of time and possibly improve it.

If you have the proposal already in a word processor document, please attach the document at the bottom of your post to facilitate the process of making the proposal package for the meeting.

Adcom Diversity Report

Bylaws section 9.17 and 9.18 require the Sept 13 state committee to elect up to five diversity representatives to the administrative committee of the GRP.

The election of these representatives is already on the standing agenda. However, it seemed to me that understanding the diversity of the current adcom is a necessary component of the process.

Three Bills dealing with Isntant Run-Off Voting are pending on Beacon Hill. There will be a public hearing on Sept. 18 at 10a.m. on IRV. Earlier in the year state com endorsed the three bills, 2784,2785 and 2952. This resolution seeks a reaffirmation of our party's committment to IRV as the hearing nears.

Binding 'No Candidate' on 2004 GPUS slate of presidential nominees

The membership convention of the GRPM directs its representatives to GPUS to propose to the GPUS that the slate of GPUS presidential nominees include a binding "No Candidate" choice, and that our GPUS representatives actively support this measure.
