In 2000, the Greens fielded Ralph Nader and Winona LaDuke as our presidential
and vice-presidential candidates. They received 173,564 votes or 6.5% of the
votes cast. This showing was both the third highest vote and percentage total
of any state. As a result the Green Party is now a recognized party
in Massachusetts. Voters can now choose to register as a Green and we will hold
primary elections in 2002.
Here is the town-by-town breakdown for the Nader campaign in Massachusetts.
Nader/LaDuke received 30-40% in some towns and precincts.
